HONORARY CHAIRMAN

Fr. Raymond is Episcopal Vicar for the English-Speaking Faithful and Director of the Office for English Pastoral Services (O.E.P.S.). In communion with the O.E.P.S. team, he coordinates English-language pastoral activities and provides support to parishes, Catholic institutions, and community groups.
After undergraduate studies at McGill in Mathematics and a brief career as an actuary, Fr. Raymond earned his Bachelor in Theology (B.Th.) and M.A. (Christian Ethics) degrees from St. Paul’s University Seminary, as well as licentiate (STL) and doctorate (STD) degrees in moral theology from the Gregorian University in Rome. He was ordained in 1991, served as associate pastor at St. Luke’s, then as pastor at St. Monica’s. He taught in the part-time faculty in the department of Theological Studies at Concordia and at the Grand Séminaire de Montréal. He is involved in the preaching of parish missions, retreats, and diocesan study days, integrating his passion for music, film, spirituality, and social analysis in all encounters.

Catherine obtained a PhD in Roman Studies from McMaster University in 1989 and began teaching at Concordia University in the same year. She was promoted to Associate Professor in 1996 and has since held the administrative positions of Associate Dean, Student Academic Affairs, Faculty of Arts and Science, and Vice-Provost, Teaching and Learning, Office of the Provost. She has been a member of the University Senate as well as both a member and chair of numerous Faculty and Departmental committees. Her current and past research is on the Latin elegiac poet Ovid, specifically his series of letters written by abandoned heroines called the Heroides. From strictly poetic interpretations of the letters, she has moved to investigating issues of gender and space in the single letters of the Heroides and the Metamorphoses.

Paula is a retired public sector senior manager who dedicated over 37 years to the development and continuous improvement of programs and services offered to youth and adults with an intellectual disability or a pervasive development disorder and their families/support network. Throughout, she inspired members of an interdisciplinary team of professionals and collaborators, and witnessed the power of relationships and joy in supporting autonomy, reducing vulnerability. Paula shares her rich work and life experiences in her parish, notably accompanying youth in Sacrament Preparation.  She serves on several boards,  contributing to the governance of not-for-profit organizations.

Talitha is Co-Founder and Executive Director of Momentum, a faith community for Catholic single mothers that was founded in 2018.  Momentum strives to build a vibrant faith community for Catholic single mothers through retreats and local chapter gathering. Prior to Momentum, Talitha worked in business for 20 years serving as Vice President of Marketing and Product Development. 

Helen is a retired bookkeeper. She is a Catholic Women’s League (CWL) member since 1997. Serving as an executive member at the parish, the diocesan, and provincial level, she is currently the Communication Chairperson of the Quebec Provincial CWL Council, responsible for generating a quarterly Newsletter for distribution to CWL Councils across Quebec. As a parishioner of St. David, she was part of the Liturgy team, coordinator of the Adult Faith Education Program, and a leader of the St. David Youth Group. Current activities also include being Secretary for the Roxboro 60+ Club. Helen is now a member of St. Luke’s Parish.

Robert, a dedicated educator, has shaped young minds at Loyola High School since 2003, teaching in the Departments of Religion and Social Studies. Beyond the classroom, he actively engages in fostering student formation and development through the retreat program. His involvement extends to St. Ignatius Parish, where he serves as a lector and a valued member of the Camino team, contributing to the parish’s Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) program.

Cristiane, a Chartered Professional Accountant, is Associate Vice-President Financial Services at McGill University. She has over thirty years of professional experience, fifteen of which were in public practice at KPMG. Her career evolved to industry, where she served as Chief Financial Officer in a privately owned pharmaceutical company. At McGill since 2008, she is a member of the Pension Administration Committee, Chair of the Pension Administration Audit Committee and a resource person to the Audit and Finance Committees. She is also on the Board of the Newman Association of Montreal as well being a long standing Trustee of the City House Foundation of the Sacred Heart School of Montreal. She is a graduate of Queen’s University, with a BA Honors in Economics and McGill University, earning a Diploma in Public Accountancy.

Brian earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Kinesiology with a Minor in Political Science from McGill University before earning his Bachelor of Law (LL.B.) at Université de Montréal. He is a practising lawyer, member of the Barreau du Québec. Brian advocates for personal and collective ownership of rights and responsibilities. He promotes community dialogue on timely access to justice.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Maria earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy (B.Sc. OT) from McGill University, and after completing a year of volunteer work in Ecuador, an M.Sc. degree in Community Health from the Université de Montréal. Her functions and mandates within health and social service networks, consultancy, and volunteer/pro bono experiences have all reinforced her conviction that community values and support are central to conscious stewardship, shared faith and joy in kinship, and lifelong learning. Maria is intent on honouring and building on the Council’s legacy, its openness, inclusivity, agility, and rigor. Fostering the Council’s voice within its everchanging environment to address identity, unity and vulnerability issues wisely and collaboratively affords her responsibilities and privileges she is deeply grateful for.
