Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) Conference – Senior Action Quebec
June 6 @ 10:00 am – 12:30 pm
Doors open at 9:30 am
Join us for a #halfday, in-person #conference bringing together two distinguished voices to reflect on profound #ethical and #clinical contemporary questions, as our country navigates the rapid expansion of Medical Assistance in Dying (#MAiD)
You’ll hear from one of Canada’s leading #bioethicists and from an accomplished #geriatric#physician with over forty years of experience caring for older adults at the end of life, in Quebec.
They will explore profound #questions at the heart of end-of-life choices — compassion, conscience, faith and dignity — for patients, families, clinicians, theologians, and society as a whole.
Speakers
Dr. Cory Andrew Labrecque — Bioethicist & theological ethicist, Professor of bioethics, Université Laval, Vice-president, Quebec’s National Committee for Ethics & Ageing
Dr. Catherine Ferrier — Family physician, specialist in geriatric care and assessment of decision-making capacity, McGill University Health Centre
Ms. Ruth Pelletier, Moderator
Tea, coffee, and light fare will be served.
