🕊 Purpose and Vision
In alignment with the English-Speaking Catholic Council’s mission to foster unity and inclusion, this gathering was a pastoral and community-driven response to the growing isolation felt by many seniors. Hosted at St. John Brebeuf Parish, the event offered a joyful space for connection, storytelling, and shared faith.

🌟 ESCC’s Role and Leadership
The English Speaking Catholic Council (ESCC) was proud to host and lead this meaningful initiative, bringing together parishioners for an afternoon of fellowship, service, and heartfelt dialogue. As part of our renewed commitment to grassroots engagement, the Council welcomed participants, facilitated conversations, and created space to honour the lived experiences of our elders. This gathering exemplifies our mission to foster unity, inclusion, and collaborative action across Montreal’s English-speaking Catholic community.

Attendance: 66 seniors from across Montreal’s English-speaking Catholic community

Activities:

• Opening prayer and welcome
• Storytelling, questions and queries
• Shared meal and fellowship
• Half and Half contest
• Closing blessing and invitation to future gatherings

Atmosphere: Warm, inclusive, and deeply affirming — many participants expressed joy and gratitude.

• Monthly senior socials hosted in partnership with local parishes
• Transportation support for those with mobility challenges – Catholic Action
• Intergenerational programming to foster deeper bonds
• Volunteer training in pastoral accompaniment and hospitality – SASMAD
